led by Dr Isabelle Uny and Dr Rachel O’Donnell
This session will draw form a range of qualitative projects conducted in the UK based and with partners in the Global South to explore and discuss:
i- Principles of equal partnerships in global health projects and ‘decolonising’ approches to research in practice( ways to build collaborative and more equal, reciprocal and sustainable relationships with research partners in LMIC contexts but also in the UK); we will explore successes and failures, drawing from a range of real life projects.
ii- Approaches to People and Public involvement (PPI) and meaningful community engagement in research. We will use real life examples from recent projects in the UK and in the Global South.
