With R you can automatically combine Excel files and easily apply summary statistics on multiple data sets. You can produce beautiful plots with custom font sizes ready for publications and posters. You can sort your processing and analysis pipeline in a way that is easy to read and ready to share. Also, performing inferential statistics is as easy as one line of code.
In this two-day workshop, we will go through data wrangling and the organization of multiple Excel files downloaded from an online platform used to collect data from surveys and experiments. We will discuss the basics of data cleaning, organization, and available plots to show different types of relationships between variables. During the second session, we will move on to discuss statistical tests, such as t-tests, ANOVAs, and linear regression.
Depending on demand, we will cover more advanced topics such as logistic regression and mixed effects models or will stick to basics and focus on perfecting essential skills. So, independent if you have never touched R before, or have compiled a violing plot or two, you are welcome.
Also, this event is a great opportunity for those who have not started data collection yet, because it is essential to know what the possibilities of data analysis are in order to plan and collect data efficiently.
