Meet the Entrepreneurs in Residence at Stirling University on 15th February 2024

Professor Ross Tuffee the Entrepreneurial Campus Development Advisor to Scottish Government. Ross left corporate life and set up his own tech start up – Dogfish Mobile – just after apple first launched their iPhone. Having sold his company in 2017, Ross now focuses on coaching and supporting start-up and scale-up businesses. Want to know more about starting a business after your PhD this is the session for you.

Our second speaker is Dr Lissa Herron, she obtained her PhD in neurobiology from the University of St Andrews in 2008, and after nearly a decade of post-doctoral research, make the commercialisation leap through a Royal Society of Edinburgh Enterprise Fellowship and Converge in 2017. Her project ‘Eggcellent Proteins’ was based on the chicken biotechnology research of Professor Helen Sang at the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, where Lissa was a post-doc. A year after taking the project from university into the company Roslin Technologies, Lissa joined the Converge team as Enterprise Manager and has been supporting others on their entrepreneurial journey ever since.
