This one-day workshop aims to introduce participants to some hands-on creative and artistic approaches that can be used to engage, communicate and make sense of interdisciplinary PhD projects.
The course is suitable for students with no previous experience of using creative methods, through to those with more experience.
The day will be jointly led by two social scientists who draw on creative methods in their academic work: Dr Lisa Bradley, Senior Lecturer in Creative and Interdisciplinary Studies in Education at the University of Glasgow, and Dr Jimmy Turner from the Binks Hub, University of Edinburgh. Students will be led through the process of making zines to communicate research ideas, how to curate artistic outputs, and how this can support interdisciplinary or post-disciplinary thinking.
