How to make a podcast

August 4 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Led by PhD researcher and experienced podcast host, Laura Young

Podcasting is an increasingly popular way to communicate research, share ideas, and engage with a wide audience beyond academia. This training session is designed for all students who want to learn the fundamentals of creating a podcast, whether to enhance their research communication, public engagement, or interdisciplinary collaboration.

This session will cover:
Planning a podcast: developing themes, structuring episodes, and selecting formats.
Recording and editing basics: equipment, software options, and best practices for high-quality podcasts.
Engaging storytelling: making research accessible and compelling for listeners.
Promotion and marketing: helping get your podcast out, growing listenership, and engaging with social media promotion.

No prior experience is required, but students with existing podcasting projects or ideas are encouraged to share them.
