Over the last 12 months, we’ve all found ourselves in unfamiliar and uncertain situations. We’ve probably all learned a bit more about how we face challenges and what is important to us. In this workshop, you’ll have the chance to synthesise this learning, translate it into personal strengths and values and discuss what that means when thinking about your future post-PhD.
You’ll also have the opportunity to hear from those who have made the transition from PhD into the job market and to ask them about their experiences in different working environments – what are the strengths they use and the values that attracted and keep them motivated in their role.
The workshop will be a a mixture of content, individual reflective exercises, small group discussions and a Q&A with PhD graduates. The facilitators are Diane Gill, Head of Strategy and Operations at SGSSS and Dr Sharon Maguire, PhD Careers Consultant at the University of Edinburgh.
