Summer School 2024: The Hidden Curriculum & Development Needs Analysis: Connecting the Dots

This workshop aims to highlight how doctoral scholars can harness the power of the Hidden Curriculum as they plan their personal journeys of growth & development not only for a successful, meaningful & timely PhD completion, but also in preparing for a post-PhD career.

In this workshop, we will cover the following:
• exploring the concept of third space and the Hidden Curriculum and how they can complement the formal structure within the doctoral context;
• discussing the notion of Development Needs Analysis and its importance in guiding each doctoral journey;
• reflecting on the ‘untapped potential’ of the Hidden Curriculum and how harnessing the hidden doctoral pedagogies can support each doctoral scholars’ Development Needs Analysis; and
• understanding connections between successful, meaningful and transformative PhD experience and nurtured well-being.
