led by Dr Esraa Karam, University of Aberdeen
This two-hour workshop provides participants with foundational insights into experimental research within the social sciences. Attendees will explore key experimental designs and gain clarity on various types of variables. Participants will delve into essential concepts that are related to experimental research such as causation, manipulation of variables, and experimental validity, and will also learn about appropriate statistical techniques for analysing experimental data. Through practical examples, attendees will learn how to design robust experiments capable of uncovering meaningful insights about causal relationships in management and social sciences.
This session is suitable for Research Masters students and PhD students at any level who are interested in experimental design.
