This workshop, led by the University of St Andrews’ doctoral researcher Ann Gillian Chu, will be a discussion on using apps and software to facilitate social science-related PhD research, particularly in the stages of planning, data collection and analysis, writing, and networking.
In the first part of this workshop, Gillian will introduce several apps that can help with project management, data collection and analysis, writing planning, editing, remote interviews, and networking. Then Gillian, along with fellow University of St Andrews doctoral researcher Mátyás Bódi, will facilitate a discussion on the use of apps in their PhD journey, and critically reflect on when and how to engage with and disengage from the Internet.
The aim of this workshop is for participants to discuss how apps are used in their PhD journey, creating a space for them to share their knowledge in engaging and disengaging with technology.
You can come with any level of knowledge in the use of apps.
