In this course Dr Alan Marhsall will provide an introduction to demographic techniques and data. All students require is familiarity with Excel – the content is definitely introductory. The course is structured around analysing the demographic components of change (fertility, mortality and migration) and finishes with an introduction to the cohort component projection methodology. The content includes a series of lecture recordings and Excel practicals where students are guided through demographic analysis. Normally the material would comprise a 1 day course so this might run across sessions. I will offer a short introduction to the course and a Q&A at the end both online (and live).
